Bimlu
English

For parents

A quick guide to safety, settings and helping your child play in peace.

What Bimlu doesn’t do

  • doesn’t go online: the app has no network access;
  • doesn’t ask for sign-up, email or a phone number;
  • doesn’t collect or send any data, neither your child’s nor yours;
  • doesn’t ask for access to the camera, microphone, contacts or location;
  • has no chats and no links leading out of the game;
  • never rushes: no timers, no game overs, no “last lives”.

Screen pinning

To keep your child from leaving the game by accident, pin the screen.

Android

  1. On the title screen, tap the lock button in the bottom left corner.
  2. Android will ask you to confirm. Agree. On some devices you need to turn the feature on first: Settings → Security → App pinning.
  3. Done: system gestures won’t take your child out of Bimlu.

To unpin: go back to the title screen and tap the lock again. Or use the system method, usually holding the Back and Overview buttons, or swiping up and holding (it depends on the device).

iPhone and iPad

  1. Go to Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access, turn it on and set a passcode.
  2. Open Bimlu and triple-click the Side button (or the Home button), then tap “Start”.
  3. To exit, triple-click the button again and enter the passcode.

All settings on one screen

  • Music: the note button on the title screen, and under the “home” button in games. It turns off only the background tune; game sounds stay on.
  • Language: the round flag on the title screen. Your choice is remembered.
  • Hero: a boy or a girl. Use the arrows button above the characters on the title screen.
  • Leaving a game: only with the round home button in the top left corner. The “back” gesture does nothing in games, so a stray swipe won’t close the game.

Supported devices

  • Android 7.0 or later, phones and tablets. Best on a tablet.
  • Landscape only: the screen turns the right way on its own.
  • A smooth 60 frames per second, even on budget tablets.
  • Install size: about 100 MB.
  • The iPhone and iPad version is on its way.

About screen time

Bimlu games are short: no levels your child “can’t quit”, and no rewards for playing longer. You can stop at any moment and nothing is lost.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than one hour of screen time a day for children ages 2–5, ideally shared with an adult. Short Bimlu games fit into that nicely. Ask your child what they built or drew. They’ll love showing you.
